We are recruiting for an Electrician on a Permanent basis. The base salary is between £29,009 - £35,015 dependant on experience.

As Electrician you will be involved in:

  • Planned and preventative electrical maintenance, including administrative duties aligned to the tasks.
  • Actively fault finding / problem solving on electrical systems across the prison.
  • Carry out like for like replacements and other electrical minor works with the relevant electrical inspections and tests carried out and results recorded in accordance with BS7671.
  • Ensuring that all electrical systems are safe, compliant, and functioning effectively helping to create a secure and well-maintained environment for staff and residents.

What you will bring:

  • City & Guilds 2367 or 2357 Level 2 Electrical Installation works or equivalent.
  • BS7671 18th Edition, however, we will consider 17th Edition with upskilling to 18th Edition.
  • Good working knowledge of Health & Safety requirements.
  • Good working knowledge of planned and preventative maintenance operations.
  • Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.

The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week, between 08:00 - 17:00. There will be a need to work 1 in 3 weekends, but this would be on a rota basis (and with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary).
