This role is suited for a proactive Site Supervisor with a background in installing electro-mechanical equipment and overseeing FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests) of machinery into customer sites. The successful candidate will report directly to the Installation Manager, supporting all site installation activities in accordance to the scope within the project plan. They will work closely with the Project department to ensure that projects are delivered according to the defined scope, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate will have experience overseeing the installation of materials handling equipment into factories, warehouses and other environments. Based in the North West, but with extensive travel to customer sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in both internal and customer Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
- Develop, manage, and maintain detailed installation documentation for site activities.
- Oversee and coordinate subcontractor performance and suppliers.
- Attend customer meetings at various site locations.
- Serve as the primary on-site contact throughout the installation, commissioning, and project handover stages.
- Ensure all installation activities adhere to safety protocols and environmental standards.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) or equivalent certification.
- Background in Mechanical Engineering.
- Flexibility in working hours and patterns.
- At least 5 years of experience managing the installation of complex machinery.
- Knowledge of conveyor systems and materials handling equipment.
- Strong ability to interpret and work with technical drawings and specifications.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive salary and provision of a company van.
- Standard working hours of 39 hours per week, with overtime paid for hours beyond this.
- Occasional weekend work required.
- Travel across the UK and potentially overseas.
