MoveATech is recruiting a skilled CNC Machinist to join a specialist barrel manufacturing facility in Portsmouth. This role is ideal for an experienced machinist with a strong background in both CNC and manual lathe and milling operations, working in a precision engineering environment.
About the Role
You will be responsible for producing high-quality precision barrels using a combination of CNC and manual machining methods. The role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong technical understanding, and the ability to work to tight tolerances while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC and manual lathes to manufacture precision barrels
- Work within a machine shop environment in line with health and safety and quality requirements
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Use a range of precision measuring instruments to ensure dimensional accuracy
- Manage daily machining tasks to support efficient production workflows
Essential Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in CNC and manual lathe machining
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring equipment
- Experience with Fanuc CNC controls
Desirable Experience
- Experience with XYZ Prototrack controls
- Experience with Heidenhain controls
