MoveATech is proud to be partnering with a cutting‑edge automation business to recruit an experienced Robot Programmer. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small, highly skilled engineering team delivering advanced robotic and automated solutions across the automotive and general industrial sectors.
The Role
Based primarily at the company’s modern facilities just south of Bedford, you’ll play a key role in the full lifecycle of industrial robot projects — from initial concept and simulation through to commissioning and customer handover. There will also be opportunities to travel to UK customer sites to support installation, programming, and final commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Programming and commissioning of industrial robots to customer specifications
- Initial setup and integration of robots and interfacing hardware (e.g. weld timers, dosing systems)
- Robot path programming with a focus on cycle time optimisation
- Post‑installation programming and commissioning at customer sites
- Supporting order acquisition and bid stages through concepting, layout, and simulation
- Working across office, shop floor, and customer site environments in a hybrid/split role
Required Experience
- Proven experience in robot programming, including offline programming software
- Experience with one or more of the following robot brands: ABB
- Experience with one or more of the following robot brands: Fanuc
- Experience with one or more of the following robot brands: KUKA
- Experience with one or more of the following robot brands: Yaskawa
Desirable Experience
- Resistance spot welding
- MIG welding
- Dosing (glue/bonding)
- Riveting
- Handling and other joining techniques
- Offline programming and robotic simulation tools
