We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Technician to join our team, with flexibility to be based in either our Glasgow or Macclesfield office. The successful candidate will work on a diverse range of high-profile projects, supporting both our UK and Irish operations.
Key Attributes:
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and the ability to apply codes of practice to solve technical challenges across a range of civil and structural materials.
- Advanced IT skills relevant to the discipline: Highly proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Competent in Revit, Autotrack, Causeway Flow, Linsig, and Arcady. Strong Microsoft Excel and Word capabilities.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to plan, manage, and direct resources within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to apply commercial principles effectively.
- Proven experience collaborating closely with clients, contractors, and design team members.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of the full project delivery lifecycle and the ability to adapt positively to changing project requirements.
- Ongoing commitment to CPD and professional competence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical and managerial delivery of project drawings and schedules.
- Ensure all work complies with company ISO procedures.
- Prepare risk assessments and health & safety documentation.
- Review and check the technical accuracy of work produced by other technicians.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors, clients, and project partners.
- Demonstrate efficient work practices, minimise abortive work, manage budgets, track additional services, and ensure optimal resource utilisation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing clients.
- Mentor, train, and delegate tasks to junior staff to support their development.
- Maintain high standards of quality in all outputs.
- Support engineers in producing engineering drawings and schedules.
- Attend project and client meetings as required.
