We are seeking a new Chair of trustees to lead our small movement charity.

MoveMates is a simple model with a big impact. MoveMates improves the physical and mental health of beneficiaries and volunteers through walking. It reduces social isolation and helps beneficiaries gain confidence to interact with their community.
As the Chair, you will hold a vital role of oversight of the programme and gain an intimate knowledge of the charity's work through our statistics, case studies and walk logs.
What are we looking for?

The most important quality is that you are passionate about the charity itself to effectively champion it going forward.
Previous Chair or trustee experience would be helpful or leadership and management experience in other settings.

What will you be doing?
As the Chair of the trustees you will lead the charities culture and strategic direction and set short and long-term goals to gain maximum impact for our volunteers and beneficiaries. You will ensure that the charity trustee board functions effectively, meetings are led inclusively, and the board carries out its duties.
You will ensure the charity meets its purpose in line with regulatory and governance frameworks. A key focus will be ensuring MoveMates operates under a sustainable model so the great work our staff and volunteers does continues.
You will act as an ambassador for the charity with external stakeholders and work collaboratively with them to represent our interest and values.
