The Senior Sales Director is responsible for driving both new business acquisition (hunting) and nurturing and expanding existing client relationships (farming). This dual-role requires a dynamic, results-driven individual who can prospect and acquire new customers while also maintaining and growing existing accounts. The role involves developing and executing strategies to meet sales targets, providing exceptional customer service, and building long-term client relationships across both new and existing accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
- Hunting (New Business Acquisition): Identify and target potential customers in assigned territories or markets. Develop and implement strategies to generate leads, including cold calls, networking, email outreach, social media engagement, and attending industry events or trade shows. Qualify leads and convert them into new opportunities through direct outreach, meetings, and presentations. Conduct product/service demonstrations, presentations, and proposals tailored to the prospective client’s needs. Effectively negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts to close new business deals. Manage the sales pipeline and track progress toward sales goals using CRM software.
- Market Research & Competitive Analysis: Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor offerings, and market dynamics to identify new opportunities and differentiate offerings. Leverage market research to strategically position the company’s products and services to new clients.
- Client Acquisition & Conversion: Close new business by delivering effective sales strategies that address client pain points and demonstrate the value proposition. Meet or exceed sales targets for new customer acquisition.
- Farming (Account Management & Expansion): Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing clients to ensure high satisfaction and retention. Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, addressing their needs, concerns, and inquiries in a timely manner.
- Account Growth & Upselling: Identify opportunities within existing accounts to upsell or cross-sell additional products or services. Understand clients’ evolving needs and proactively recommend new solutions or upgrades. Regularly meet with existing clients to review account performance and identify new business opportunities.
- Client Retention & Satisfaction: Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality service, follow-ups, and ensuring delivery of solutions as promised. Resolve issues and challenges that may arise with existing clients to ensure continued business relationships. Manage contract renewals and ensure timely follow-ups to secure repeat business. Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and scope of services for renewals and expansion.
Skills:
- At least 10+ years of relevant sales experience, from IT Services Industry.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Previous executive level consultative sales experience, specifically working with C suite executives to negotiate and close deals.
- Self-motivated and results-driven with the ability to manage multiple accounts.
- Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle objections effectively.
- Knowledge of sales techniques for both B2B and B2C models.
- Familiarity with sales enablement tools and marketing automation platforms.
