Movar Reply is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial management of complex infrastructure and capital delivery programmes. Acting as a trusted consultant within client environments, you will provide expert commercial and contractual advice across the full project lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered with robust cost control, sound commercial governance, and effective risk management.
This role combines hands-on quantity surveying delivery with strong stakeholder engagement, supporting both client outcomes and Movar Reply’s continued growth in the project controls and commercial management space.
- Deliver end-to-end commercial and quantity surveying services across pre- and post-contract stages of major projects and programmes.
- Prepare, review, and manage cost plans, estimates, budgets, forecasts, and final accounts.
- Provide robust cost reporting and financial control, ensuring timely, accurate, and transparent reporting to client stakeholders.
- Support procurement activities, including tender preparation, evaluation, contract award, and commercial negotiations.
- Administer construction contracts (e.g. NEC, JCT), including change control, compensation events, and claims management.
- Identify, assess, and manage commercial risks and opportunities, working closely with risk and planning disciplines.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Mentor and support junior commercial and quantity surveying professionals, promoting best practice and professional development.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage complex cost and contractual environments. Excellent understanding of construction contracts, particularly NEC forms. Ability to analyse cost data, identify trends, and provide clear, actionable insights. Organised and detail-oriented, with strong forecasting and financial management skills. Significant professional experience as a Quantity Surveyor within infrastructure, construction, or major capital programmes. Demonstrated experience delivering pre- and post-contract commercial management services. Strong working knowledge of cost management, change control, and contract administration. Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline. Willing to travel and spend 2-3 days onsite in Exeter. Water experience highly desirable.
