Job Summary

We are seeking a Principal AI Engineer with exceptional technical expertise and leadership capabilities to drive our artificial intelligence initiatives forward. This role is ideal for a technical visionary who combines deep expertise in AI, machine learning, and software engineering with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and shape technical strategy. The ideal candidate will drive innovation by architecting cutting‑edge agentic AI solutions, leading technical teams, and establishing Next Practice for AI development across the organisation and industry. This is a high‑impact role that requires both technical excellence and leadership acumen to shape the future of AI within our company and mentor the next generation of AI engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership & Architecture: With Pillar Lead, define and execute agentic strategy for Movos platform. Lead the design of scalable, robust agentic and data architectures that align with business objectives. Establish technical standards, next practice, and development methodologies for AI/ML projects.
  • AI/ML Development & Innovation: Lead the development of advanced AI/ML models and systems, from research through to production deployment. Drive innovation in machine learning algorithms, neural networks, and emerging AI technologies including generative AI and multi‑modal systems. Oversee the implementation of MLOps pipelines, model monitoring, and automated deployment systems.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of AI engineers, data scientists, and data engineers. Foster a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and innovation within the Agentic Engineering team. Collaborate closely across pillars to deliver impactful AI solutions.
  • Research & Development: Stay at the forefront of AI research and emerging technologies, evaluating and integrating cutting‑edge techniques into our technology stack. Contribute to open‑source projects and represent the company at technical conferences and industry forums. Drive proof‑of‑concept initiatives and experimental projects to explore new AI capabilities.
  • Technical Governance & Quality: Establish robust testing frameworks, performance monitoring, and quality assurance processes for AI systems. Ensure AI solutions meet enterprise standards for reliability, scalability, security, and compliance. Lead technical reviews and provide guidance on complex AI engineering challenges.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep expertise in AI/ML frameworks—TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit‑Learn, Transformers—cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and modern software engineering practices. Strong background in deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, or reinforcement learning.
  • Engineering Excellence: Proven experience building production‑scale AI systems with focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability. Expertise in software architecture, distributed systems, and DevOps/MLOps practices.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams, drive consensus on technical decisions, and collaborate effectively across departments. Experience mentoring engineers and fostering technical growth.
  • Innovation & Problem‑Solving: Track record of solving complex technical challenges and delivering innovative AI solutions that create measurable business impact.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Demonstrable experience in AI/ML engineering, with at least 2 years in a senior technical leadership role.
  • Master’s or post‑graduate degree in Data Science, AI Engineering, or related fields requiring statistical rigour.
  • Proven track record of leading the development and deployment of production AI systems at scale.
  • Strong publication record or contributions to open‑source AI projects preferred.
  • Experience with modern software development practices including CI/CD, testing frameworks, and agile methodologies.
