We're now looking for a Legal Support Assistant to join our Legal Department in Edinburgh.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Scots Law graduate who is looking to gain valuable practical experience within a modern and fast-paced law firm, with future progression opportunities towards a paralegal or legal traineeship role.

About the role

As a Legal Support Assistant, you'll provide administrative and operational support across our Legal Department and may work with different teams depending on business needs.

You'll play an important role in supporting solicitors and senior paralegals while helping ensure excellent standards of client care, compliance, and case management are maintained throughout the business.

This is a varied role that offers exposure to multiple areas of legal practice and provides an excellent foundation for someone looking to develop a long-term legal career.

What you'll be doing

Supporting solicitors and senior paralegals with administrative and client-facing tasks

Assisting with client onboarding and setting up new matters within our case management system

Carrying out Anti-Money Laundering and identity verification checks

Supporting compliance audits and internal quality checks

Preparing and organising documentation for conveyancing transactions

Managing incoming and outgoing mail, including scanning and document distribution

Monitoring shared inboxes and allocating correspondence appropriately

Maintaining accurate records and electronic filing systems

Supporting the department to meet internal service standards and deadlines

Delivering high standards of client care and professionalism at all times

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who is organised, professional, and eager to develop their legal knowledge and experience within a supportive team environment.

You'll be someone who takes pride in delivering high-quality work, communicates confidently, and remains calm and organised while managing multiple priorities.

You'll ideally have:

A Scots Law Degree (LLB)

Strong organisational and administrative skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Confidence using IT systems and software

A proactive attitude and willingness to learn

The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Desirable qualifications and experience

Diploma in Legal Practice

Previous office or administrative experience

Experience working within a legal or professional services environment
