In this role, you will play a key part in delivering compliance monitoring reviews across our global business. About the role:
- You will be part of a respected Risk & Compliance team that promotes a strong culture of compliance across Mourant and helps identify, assess and manage regulatory compliance risks.
- You will undertake a range of compliance monitoring reviews across our global business, from initial scoping and sample testing through to reporting. Reviews are selected on a risk basis and assess compliance with key legal and regulatory requirements across Mourant's business lines and jurisdictions. You will assess the effectiveness of controls and draft reports setting out your findings and recommendations.
- You will support the delivery of the Compliance Monitoring Programme by maintaining records of findings and action points, and working with business stakeholders to ensure issues are addressed and remediated in a timely manner.
- You will assist with the review and maintenance of global Risk & Compliance policies and procedures, helping to ensure they remain aligned with legal and regulatory requirements across the jurisdictions in which Mourant operates.
- You will work closely with colleagues across Risk & Compliance and Business Services teams, such as Finance and HR, to support a joined up approach to legal and regulatory compliance and assist with the review of policies and procedures.
- You will assist with stakeholder enquiries on compliance monitoring activities, findings, actions and policy updates.
About you:
We're open to candidates from a range of professional backgrounds who are looking to develop their career within Risk & Compliance. You may currently work in client administration, compliance, audit, risk, operational control, or a similar role within a regulated financial services business.
You'll ideally bring:
- Experience working within a regulated financial services environment in client administration, compliance, audit, risk, operational control, or a similar field.
- A good understanding of regulated corporate and fiduciary services in Jersey and/or Guernsey. Knowledge of other jurisdictions, including Cayman, BVI, Hong Kong or the UK, would be beneficial.
- An understanding of AML, CFT and regulatory requirements relevant to Jersey and/or Guernsey. Knowledge of other regulatory regimes would be advantageous.
- The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and deliver high quality work within agreed deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to review information, identify potential risks and assess compliance with policies and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce clear, accurate and professional written reports.
- A proactive and collaborative approach, with excellent organisational, communication and time management skills.
