Role Summary

Undertake responsive and routine repairs, void repairs for Portsmouth City Council’s (PCC) Housing and Corporate Assets, and support other maintenance contracts as required. Work includes various properties such as social housing, schools, public conveniences, offices, heritage sites, and museums.

Key Activities

Perform roofing repairs on occupied and vacant properties, including pitch and flat roofs. Tasks include replacing tiles, felt, eave trays, lead repairs/replacements, mineral sheet repairs (torch on), and non-licensed asbestos removal (full training provided).

Knowledge and Experience

• Proven competence as a tradesperson with the necessary tools
• Knowledge of relevant technical, statutory, and legislative requirements
• Understanding of materials and methods used in building and maintenance
• 2-5 years of experience in social housing or building maintenance environments

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2-3 in roofing or equivalent
• Full, clean driving license (necessary to operate company vans)
