Mountjoy Ltd has an opportunity to provide Fabric Maintenance and void repairs to residential buildings across the Fareham area.
Work streams consist of void work as well as Kitchen, Bathroom and Wet room upgrades for tenanted properties.
As an Apprentice Decorator you will assist our current tradesman in conducting a range of Painting and Decorating repairs in occupied homes, buildings and empty properties.
The work will include all types of preparation, emulsion, gloss painting, wallpaper hanging, spray painting and Artex repairs.
You will work alongside your mentor for four days per week and attend South Hampshire College Group at the Southampton site for one day a week, to study and pass a Level 2 Painter & Decorator Apprenticeship.
This apprenticeship will be a 2-year programme made up of 80% work-based learning and 20% off the job training.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accountable for the safety of yourself and those around you whilst in the workplace, ensuring you are also environmentally conscious.
- Purchase tools throughout your apprenticeship to enable you to perform your role on completion of your apprenticeship.
- Always remain polite & professional.
- To live the Mountjoy ethos and values always with whoever you deal or engage with.
- Punctual in both work and college settings, this includes ensuring all coursework is completed on time
- Have a real interest in Decorating work.
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Committed to learning and progressing every day whilst developing your skills within a practical hands-on environment. Able to listen and communicate with others.
- Ability to follow instructions.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- GCSE English and maths grade 4/C or above (or Level 2 functional skills) are preferred.
- There will be an expectation that by the end of the apprenticeship that you hold a full UK Driving Licence.
