We have an exciting opportunity for a conscientious and enthusiastic Apprentice Electrician to join our dynamic team. This permanent position is well suited to an individual that is looking to advance their career and gain hands-on experience in a thriving and supportive workplace.

As an Apprentice Electrician you will assist our current tradesman in carrying out a range of repairs, maintenance and installation works in customers\’ homes and void properties.

Your apprenticeship journey will be supported by experienced trade professionals, and a dedicated mentor who will work closely with you, providing regular feedback on your progress. You will work alongside your mentor for four days per week and attend college for one day a week, to study and pass an NVQ Level 2 Electrical Qualification.

This apprenticeship will be a 3-year programme made up of 80% work-based learning and 20% off the job training at a local college.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

β€’ To be accountable for the safety of yourself and those around you whilst in the workplace, ensuring you are also environmentally conscious.

β€’ Purchase tools throughout your apprenticeship to enable you to perform your role on completion of your apprenticeship.

β€’ To live the Mountjoy ethos and values always with whoever you deal or engage with.

β€’ Punctual in both work and college settings, this includes ensuring all coursework is completed on time

β€’ Have a real interest in Electrical type work.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

β€’ You will ideally need to have 5 GCSEs grades 9-4 (A*-C), preferably including Maths and English. If you do not have these, you will need to undertake Functional Skills alongside the NVQ.

β€’ There will be an expectation that by the end of the 3-year period that you hold a full UK Driving Licence.
