We have an exciting opportunity for a Casual Childrens Basketball Coach to join our team at the Mountbatten Leisure Centre in Portsmouth. Mountbatten is located in Hilsea, a five-minute drive from Portsmouth city centre and offers access to high-quality fitness facilities including a cardio zone, free weights, functional fitness, group cycle studio, sports hall, running track, swimming pool & spa, and free parking.

You will plan and deliver junior activities and fitness sessions to children of all ages, ensuring the safety, welfare and wellbeing of all participants. You will:

  • Plan children’s sessions and activities
  • Set up and take down equipment, ensuring it is safe to use
  • Provide safe, informative, fun and progressive sessions
  • Keep all children safe from harm and report any safeguarding concerns
  • Attend training and meetings as and when required
  • Adhere to health and safety requirements

You will need:

  • Level 2 Basketball Coach qualification or Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Multi-Skills Development in Sport
  • Previous experience of planning and delivering quality sessions for children of all ages and abilities
  • Confidence in delivering sessions to groups of children and be able to use your own initiative
