About the Company

We are recruiting for a Sales Account Manager to join an established commercial team supporting academic and research customers across Central London.

About the Role

The role will focus primarily on managing and growing an existing customer base, developing long-term relationships with researchers, laboratory managers, and principal investigators, and identifying opportunities to expand the use of life science instrumentation, reagents, and consumables within existing accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a portfolio of established academic and research accounts.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across universities and research institutes.
  • Identify opportunities for account growth through cross-selling and upselling existing product lines.
  • Conduct regular customer visits to understand research activities, funding opportunities, and future requirements.
  • Deliver product presentations and technical discussions with end users.
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and account retention.
  • Develop account plans and maintain accurate sales forecasts.
  • Work closely with internal technical support and application teams to deliver customer solutions.
  • Represent the company at relevant scientific meetings and industry events.

Qualifications

  • 1–5 years of sales experience within the life sciences sector.
  • Experience selling life science instrumentation, consumables, reagents, or related laboratory products.
  • Degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of molecular biology workflows and techniques.
  • Strong account management and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with scientific customers and understand their research objectives.
  • Organised, commercially aware, and customer-focused.
  • Full right to work in the UK.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with academic, university, or research institute customers.
  • Experience managing an established territory or customer base.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and account planning processes.
