We have an exciting opportunity to join the Commercial Retail team at Mountain Warehouse as a Senior Retail Promotions Manager. In this role, you will lead the planning, development, and execution of promotional activity to drive sales, increase brand awareness, and enhance customer engagement across three brands and nine international markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promotions Calendar
    • Own and manage the promotional calendar critical path, ensuring timelines align with seasonal planning and buying cycles.
    • Shape the commercial retail strategy by building a promotional and campaign calendar rooted in business objectives, regional trading patterns, and previous performance insights, with a focus on like-for-like sales growth.
    • Work closely with the Promotions Coordinator to ensure campaigns are planned and delivered on time.
    • Collaborate regularly with regional retail and e-commerce teams to review promotional plans, adapting to trading conditions, weather, and stock availability.
    • Continuously review and refine current and future calendars to ensure alignment with evolving business needs.
    • Monitor competitor activity and market trends to inform and strengthen promotional strategies.
  • Promotions Implementation
    • Partner with Merchandising and Trading teams to ensure stock availability supports promotional activity.
    • Contribute to POS and VM planning, providing clear and actionable briefs for in-store execution.
    • Regularly review implementation plans to reflect strategic changes and incorporate learnings.
    • Oversee and sign off on all promotional communications to head office and retail teams.
  • Promotions Reporting
    • Analyse promotional performance data and make recommendations to optimise current and future campaigns.
    • Capture key learnings from data and retail feedback, feeding insights into future planning cycles.
  • Local Retail Marketing
    • Identify opportunities for regional promotional activity.
    • Build strong relationships with retail centres and ensure marketing assets are available to support activity.
    • Review and evaluate performance of local campaigns, providing recommendations for future initiatives.
  • Marketing Campaigns
    • Develop campaign and product marketing calendars aligned with the promotional plan, business priorities, and regional requirements.
    • Manage campaign critical paths, ensuring clear timelines and accurate information delivery across teams.
    • Brief creative and marketing requirements to POS, Graphics, and VM teams.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally across Retail, Web, Commercial, and B&M teams to deliver impactful campaigns.
    • Evaluate campaign effectiveness and embed learnings into future planning.
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead and develop the Promotions team, supporting communication, capability building, and performance.
    • Foster strong cross-functional collaboration with POS, Graphics, VM, Merchandising, Buying, Retail, Web, and IT teams.
    • Identify opportunities to improve processes and drive operational efficiencies.
    • Support system enhancements and adoption of new ways of working.
    • Coach and guide wider teams on best practice and new processes.
    • Conduct regular store visits and competitor benchmarking (comp shops).
