- This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing Design team as a
Midweight Packaging Designer , reporting to the Head of Design.
We are looking for a commercially minded and ambitious designer with a passion for packaging, innovation and sustainability.
You'll play a key role in developing engaging packaging solutions across our three brands, enhancing the customer experience while balancing commercial objectives and environmental impact considerations.
You'll be a confident communicator with strong presentation skills, capable of articulating design rationale to senior stakeholders.
You'll thrive in a fast-paced environment, proactively identifying solutions, anticipating challenges and building strong relationships with cross‑functional teams and suppliers.
You'll also manage and mentor Assistant Designers, helping to develop their skills and confidence.

- What You’ll Be Doing
- Research trends, customer insights and competitor activity to identify opportunities that elevate our packaging and customer experience.
- Translate strategic briefs into commercially viable packaging concepts across multiple brands and product categories.
- Lead packaging projects from concept through to production, ensuring quality, consistency and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Collaborate with Buying, Product Technology and suppliers to develop packaging solutions that meet commercial, technical and sustainability objectives.
- Plan and facilitate project meetings, ensuring clear communication and alignment across stakeholders.
- Allocate work at project and task level, balancing team capability, capacity and critical path priorities.
- Manage seasonal critical paths to ensure key initiatives and day‑to‑day projects are delivered on time.
- Drive innovation in packaging materials, construction, sustainability and production techniques.
- Maintain packaging unit forecasts and stock levels, ensuring packaging inventory is accurately managed and replenished where required.
- Review samples, artwork and production proofs, providing clear feedback to suppliers to achieve the highest quality standards.
- We would like to meet someone who is
- A degree (or equivalent) in Packaging Design, Product Design, Graphic Design or a related discipline.
- Relevant packaging, graphic or product design experience within a retail or consumer brand environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Experience producing physical card mock‑ups and packaging prototypes.
- Strong technical knowledge of packaging print processes, materials, substrates and manufacturing techniques.
- Excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to balance creativity with business objectives.
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills, with the confidence to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience mentoring or managing junior team members.
- The ability to manage projects from initial concept through to production and launch.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to build effective working relationships across cross‑functional teams and external suppliers.
