About The Role
Location: Acer House SARC, North Yorkshire, YO26 6QR
Salary: £43,443.057 FTE based on 40 hours per week (£20.83 per hour)
Full Time – 36 hours per week, rota basis covering 24/7, 365 days per year.
The successful candidate will support the Sexual Offence Examiner team, providing compassionate care to victims of sexual assault as a qualified RN, Midwife, RMN, or Paramedic.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct forensic examinations and obtain forensic exhibits.
- Develop forensic strategies in line with FFLM guidelines.
- Collaborate actively with external MDTs and Police.
- Act as first point of contact for victims, Police, and Social Services to discuss referral pathways.
- Manage and promote the self-referral pathway.
- Undertake holistic assessments including sexual health, mental health, and safeguarding.
- Produce individual management plans.
- Support continuous quality improvement of the service.
- Work under Forensic Science Regulator requirements.
- Obtain consent for health and forensic procedures.
Essential Skills & Requirements
- Qualified Registered Nurse, Midwife, or Paramedic.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
- Knowledge of safeguarding children and adults.
- Knowledge of confidentiality.
- Phlebotomy skills.
- Experience of autonomous working.
- Position reserved for females only under the Sex Discrimination Act (Section 7(2)b and 7(2)e).
- UK driving licence and vehicle access required for travel between SARC sites.
- Advanced DBS and level 2 Police vetting.
