We're looking for caring and compassionate nurses (RGNs) to join us as Sexual Offence Examiner to provide holistic care and support to victims of sexual assault. Each region has its own dedicated SARC (sexual assault referral centre) which offers support and practical help to anyone who has been a victim of rape or sexual assault. Our services are co-funded by the police and the NHS. The nursing team are responsible for providing a dedicated 24/7 service for forensic and acute health needs and requirements.

Location: The Solace Centre SARC, Surrey and additional locations through the South East

Available Hours: 24 hours per week. Cover days, nights and weekend. 24/7 Monday – Sunday

Salary: Pro Rata £45,965.58 per annum based on a 42 hour per week FTE (£20.99 per hour)

Responsibilities:

  • Providing telephone advice to patients and colleagues.
  • Undertaking holistic assessments including sexual health, mental health, and safeguarding.
  • Using a camera system to document injuries.
  • Sharing information where appropriate.
  • Producing individual management plans.
  • Supporting the continued quality improvement of the service.
  • Forensic examinations and obtaining forensic exhibits.

Please note, all successful candidates will be subject to pre-employment checks including an Enhanced DBS check, two satisfactory references, and Police vetting NVVP Level 2 checks. Whilst the position may be based from one location, additional travel may be a requirement of the role across SARC's, therefore a UK driving license is required for this role.

Because of the nature of the Sexual Offence Examiner, applications are invited from females only. This post has a genuine occupational qualification under the Sex Discrimination Act, Section 7(2)b and 7(2)e.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Registered Nurse, Midwife, Paramedic.
  • NMC pin, RGN.
  • A minimum of 3 years + Nursing post-qualification experience acute medical healthcare experience.
  • Experience of working with vulnerable adults and children.
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children and adults.
  • Knowledge and understanding confidentiality.
  • A full UK driving license.
