About The Role

Location: Acer House SARC, North Yorkshire, YO26 6QR

Salary: £43,443.057 FTE based on 40 hours per week (£20.83 per hour)

Full Time – 36 hours per week, rota basis covering 24/7, 365 days per year.

The successful candidate will support the Sexual Offence Examiner team, providing compassionate care to victims of sexual assault as a qualified RN, Midwife, RMN, or Paramedic.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct forensic examinations and obtain forensic exhibits.
  • Develop forensic strategies in line with FFLM guidelines.
  • Collaborate actively with external MDTs and Police.
  • Act as first point of contact for victims, Police, and Social Services to discuss referral pathways.
  • Manage and promote the self-referral pathway.
  • Undertake holistic assessments including sexual health, mental health, and safeguarding.
  • Produce individual management plans.
  • Support continuous quality improvement of the service.
  • Work under Forensic Science Regulator requirements.
  • Obtain consent for health and forensic procedures.

Essential Skills & Requirements

  • Qualified Registered Nurse, Midwife, or Paramedic.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding children and adults.
  • Knowledge of confidentiality.
  • Phlebotomy skills.
  • Experience of autonomous working.
  • Position reserved for females only under the Sex Discrimination Act (Section 7(2)b and 7(2)e).
  • UK driving licence and vehicle access required for travel between SARC sites.
  • Advanced DBS and level 2 Police vetting.
