Responsibilities
- Perform forensic examinations and obtain forensic exhibits.
- Develop forensic strategies according to FFLM guidelines.
- Work actively in partnership with external MDTs and Police.
- Serve as point of contact for Police and Social Services to discuss referral pathways.
- Undertake holistic assessments including sexual health, mental health, and safeguarding.
- Support the continued quality improvement of the service.
- Work under the Forensic Science Regulator requirements.
- Obtain consent for health and forensic procedures.
Qualifications
- GMC‑registered Doctor with a minimum of 3 years of relevant post‑Foundation experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children and adults.
- Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality.
- Experience working in sexual health, paediatrics, GP or Obs/Gynaecology.
- UK driving licence required and access to a vehicle.
- Advanced DBS and level2 Police vetting (requires residency for 3 years in the UK).
- Medical indemnity by start date required.
- Desired: Diploma in Legal Medicine or membership of the Faculty for Forensic and Legal Medicine.
- Previous experience working in a SARC setting or custodial environments is desirable.
