We are recruiting for a Registered Nurse Radiotherapy Outpatients at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, a non‑surgical cancer centre in Northwood that provides chemotherapy, radiotherapy and immunotherapy treatments to over 5,000 patients a year. The outpatient department is open Monday to Friday and works closely with Radiotherapy, Acute Oncology Service and ward areas.
Responsibilities
- Deliver a high standard of care to all patients and visitors within the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre.
- Improve the patient experience and achieve excellence in patient‑focused initiatives such as infection control, prevention, patient safety, privacy and dignity and productive ward practices.
- Support and advise on specific treatments or nursing practices and signpost patients to the appropriate services.
- Co‑coordinate overall care in the clinical area in the absence of the Team Leader or Ward Manager.
- Create a learning environment, support education and training of qualified and unqualified staff, and participate in the development of nursing practice.
- Be aware of QUIPP initiatives and resource management, and consider cost‑effectiveness throughout practice.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of risk management and governance issues.
Remuneration
In addition to the basic salary, the role includes a High‑Cost Area Supplement of 15 % of basic salary, with a minimum payment of £4,870 and a maximum payment of £6,137 per annum pro rata. We value inclusion, respect and improvement, and encourage all qualified candidates to apply.
