Salary Range: NJC Grade E Pt 15 - 20; £30,024 - £32,597

Contract Hours: 37 Hours per week, Monday to Friday

Reach South Academy Trust is seeking an energetic, passionate and resilient Site Manager, to build on a culture of high expectations and achieving the best outcomes for all pupils. You will support your school sites and the Estates Operations Manager as appropriate. Reporting to the Headteacher and where appropriate, supporting the Estate Operations Manager, this role is an ideal opportunity to get involved and gain experience in aspects of site management. The role will include day-to-day operations, health and safety, compliance, service testing and maintenance, and working as part of a small team who provide estates related services to a cluster of Reach South schools in Devon.

Key Responsibilities

  • All adults working at Reach South must ensure that the safeguarding of children is the highest priority and are responsible for reporting any concerns in accordance with the Safeguarding Policy.
  • To actively promote and maintain commitment to the Trust’s Equal Opportunities Policy and observe the standard of conduct which prevents discrimination taking place.
  • To manage the academy premises and site to ensure the health, safety and security of all pupils, staff, parents, governors and stakeholders, including contractors and visitors to the site.
  • To work under own initiative to ensure workload is prioritised and efficiently completed.
  • Under the direction of the Headteacher and EBM, the Site Manager will be responsible for the maintenance, safety and security of the premises and its contents.
  • Act as the primary key holder, ensuring security and operational readiness of the school site, including emergency response coordination.
  • To line manage and oversee site staff at all school sites.
  • Coordinate the site team’s resources across sites to ensure each school has adequate site team support at all times, including recruitment, training, and performance management, ensuring alignment with trust-wide policies.
  • Working in liaison with the Estates Operation Manager, where appropriate, to ensure that the school achieves all required services, testing and maintenance requirements, associated with key statutory requirements.
  • Ensure the Trust’s Health and Safety Policy and Operational Safety Manual are complied with at both sites within remit.
  • Facilitates communication and coordination between sites, ensuring consistent implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Conduct Health & Safety inductions of new staff site staff at Mount Tamar School.
  • Where required will assist in the production, monitoring and review of risk assessments.

About the School

Our school is for children who have an Educational, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) describing Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and/or an Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). We have children on roll from Y3-Y11. We are a community of approximately 100 pupils and 100 staff over 4 sites in the Plymouth area. Our main Primary and Secondary School site is at Row Lane in Higher St Budeaux in the north of the city. The school provides a broad, balanced curriculum and is enhanced by our Forest School for Primary pupils and our craft/design and technology and farm sites for secondary pupils. We also use various external training providers to offer more specialised provision.
