Mount Royal Hotel Edinburgh by the Unlimited Collection is seeking a charming and engaging Duty Manager with a passion for service excellence to start with us by October 2025.
You will report to the Assistant Front Office Manager, supporting/working towards providing our guests with memorable experiences of the city.
Key Responsibilities:
A Duty Manager (Guest Service Manager) will be responsible for:
- Ensures the Front Office team offers a warm welcome, accurate information, and guest comfort and safety.
- Oversees adherence to company procedures (check-in, check-out, cash and key handling).
- Manages team communication and fosters a collaborative environment.
- Supports the Assistant Front Office Manager with recruitment, performance management, talent development, and absence management.
- Handles guest queries and complaints, involving senior management when necessary.
- Manages bookings, room allocations, group reservations, and special requests.
- Initiates and maintains effective communication within the department and with other departments.
- Ensures compliance with safety and security procedures, financial tasks, and assists with revenue management.
Qualifications/ Experience:
To be successful in the role of Duty Manager, we require:
- Excellent guest engagement skills
- Cash and Key handling experience
- Knowledge of relevant legislation: health and safety, employment
- Ability to act on own initiative and think ahead in to exceed expectations
- Creativity and confidence to find solutions to everyday challenges
- Experienced working in a four-star hotel as a supervisor
