We are currently recruiting for a Cleaning Operative to join our team based at Southern Regional College Greenbank, Newry.

Working Pattern: 15 hours per week Monday‑Friday 09:30 am – 12:30 pm

The Role:

  • Provide the highest level of cleaning service within your area of responsibility.
  • Respond positively, politely and promptly to all customer requirements and carry out duties in a professional manner.
  • Provide a range of general cleaning services to include offices/meeting rooms, toilets, etc., site wide.
  • Ensure all stocks are replenished in your area of responsibility.
  • Ensure regular checks are carried out to the equipment/machines used during hours of work and all the equipment is left clean and in good working order.
  • Make yourself familiar with and follow all company procedures and regulations.
  • Participate in the Health and Safety Policy of the company and report any dangers or hazards encountered to your line manager.
  • All offices, toilets, and amenity areas must be presented clean and tidy.
  • Comply with all Health, Safety & Hygiene standards.
  • Report defective equipment, utensils, work or floor surfaces or any other health and safety issues to your line manager.

The Person:

  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • NVQ/SVQ Level One in Cleaning Building Interiors would be an advantage but is not essential.
  • Previous work experience in customer service employment.
  • Current BICS qualifications.
  • Basic reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills to understand safety and work instructions and communicate with customers on a day‑to‑day basis.
