Mount Charles Group is one of the largest and privately owned soft Facilities Management, catering, and ancillary service/product providers in Ireland. We are looking for a Food Service Assistant to join our team in Newcastle, County Down. This role offers an opportunity to join a world leading facilities management company.
Working Pattern:
- 17 hours per week
- 2 working days out of 7
- 9:30 am – 6 pm
- One weekend on and one weekend off

The Role:
- Assist in the preparation, service and sales of all food and beverages for the unit
- Prepare service counter
- Provide high quality customer service consistently to all facility users
- Work as part of the team to ensure service is delivered on time and to a consistently high standard
- Carry out all cleaning duties as instructed by line manager or per unit cleaning rota
- Ensure kitchen and service areas are always clean and tidy
- Clear rooms of any trays
- Handle cash responsibilities under your control
- Keep up-to-date with current promotions and new products
- Comply with Health, Safety and Hygiene standards
- Comply with HACCP regulations as necessary
- Follow procedures for correct handling and use of all cleaning materials
- Complete any required administration, including recording food temperatures, updating cleaning schedules, cashing up tills, and recording daily sales figures
- Assist with effective management of stock control
The Person:
- Demonstrable passion for providing good customer service
- Excellent communication skills
- Flexibility and adaptability
- Good navigation and time management
- Workable knowledge of HACCP regulations
- Basic food hygiene certificate
- Basic statutory training: candidates must have basic reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills to understand safety and work instructions and to communicate with customers on a day‑to‑day basis
