The Pre-op/Post-op/PACU department at Mount Carmel Grove City has 20 pre-op/post-op bays and 14 PACU bays. The Registered Nurse would expect to see inpatient and outpatient cases related to surgery, endoscopy, IR, myelograms, and MRIs. The PACU ratio is 2:1 unless ICU, Pre-op is 2/3:1, Post-op is 2/3:1. This department offers flexible hours and great teamwork in a fast-paced environment. The Pre-op/Post-op/PACU employees collaborate with the surgery and anesthesia teams to provide excellent patient care. This position is for full-time, 32 hours per week with on-call.
The Registered Nurse RN, within the scope of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, will provide care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person's physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. The Registered Nurse RN collaborates in the spirit of teamwork and is accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of the Organization.
What you will do:
- Provides nursing care, ensures an environment of patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and quality initiatives and exhibits professionalism in nursing practice within the model of the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program.
- Assesses and evaluates patient care for an assigned group of patients, utilizing evidence based practice.
- Collaborates with patient and family to develop and implement a plan of care that includes physical, spiritual and educational components.
- Accurately communicates pertinent information to appropriate team members in a timely manner.
- Keeps patient/family apprised/updated.
- Documents accurately and completely pertinent assessments, interventions and outcomes for patients in accordance with documentation standards, policies, procedures and/or guidelines.
- Assumes responsibility and accountability for care provided and documented by other licensed and unlicensed caregivers as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate from school of nursing.
- Licensure / Certification: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
- For Casual RNs, 2 years of experience is required.
- All new graduate nurses with less than one (1) year of clinical experience are subject to participate and will be automatically enrolled in the Nurse Residency Program.
