Leading our Health & Safety team, you will be responsible for the systems, processes, and behaviours that ensure everyone leaves our sites across London safely at night. You will be our point person on legislation changes, a great coach that helps teammates improve, and the guardian of the measures and metrics that help us see reality clearly. You will also be working cross-functionally across different sites and teams.
We are all about pursuing better differently at Mount Anvil. This means constantly evaluating how we can be better to drive the behaviours that create a culture of safety and drive the numerical results that show that it is working to keep people safe across our London sites. We are a high-performance culture. High performance in this role means keeping the bar extremely high; we are a ROSPA Gold Award winner, several British Safety Council Sword & Globe of Honours Awards, and Mind Wellbeing Gold award winner, to name a few. With our construction turnover growing and set to double, that responsibility will keep growing.
You will need to have led Health & Safety teams before as a Head of or Director in a contractor or developer and will have a strong knowledge of UK Environmental legislation. You will have experience carrying out audits, in-depth knowledge of compliance, and you will love tracking and analysing the data that comes from the H&S systems that we have. Ideally, you will have been in residential environments, but commercial, hospitality, infrastructure, and retail experience is welcomed too.
Reporting into our Delivery Director Alun, who has decades of experience on complex sites and is a great people person, you will be managing a team of three health & safety coaches and will have huge impact and responsibility in the business - safety is a priority here; it is high on the agenda of the Exec and we talk about it every month company-wide in our business All Hands events. A cornerstone of our culture is getting better - to do this, you will be expected to give and get feedback from day one. We think candour and openness is the fastest way to learn and to build trust; we hate unnecessary hierarchy and 'my way or the highway' has no place here!
Mount Anvil is here to pursue better differently. We have worked in partnership for 31 years to create outstanding places in London. We are growing with our construction turnover doubling and with a pipeline of new projects where we are raring to get started and make a difference.
Benefits include private medical insurance for you and your family through Vitality, income protection insurance, life assurance equivalent to four times your salary, enhanced maternity and paternity leave, and workplace nursery salary sacrifice allowing you to save tax and NI on monthly nursery fees. We think the best benefit of being here is the learning culture and the ability to make a real difference.
