We are looking for a Production Technician to serve the packhouse and processing unit with graded product of the correct quality whilst running/maintaining the grading facility, staff and associated processes.
Working hours are 05:15am to 5:30pm on a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern.
The position involves:
- Carrying out and documenting start up checks, changeovers (including organic transitions), and cleaning to prevent cross-contamination.
- Calibrating and maintaining NIR graders, cameras (including Q-EYE), weigh cells, and related equipment.
- Acting as first point of contact for grader breakdowns and coordinating repairs with Engineering.
- Monitoring grading line productivity and product quality, escalating issues where targets are not met.
- Troubleshooting technical issues and supporting root cause analysis of breakdowns.
- Performing quality control inspections and ensuring compliance with internal and customer standards.
- Cleaning, inspecting, and replacing grader components (beds, blades, NIR cups, screens), maintaining accurate records.
- Ensuring correct use of grading screens and organising repairs when required.
- Maintaining high housekeeping, labelling, hygiene, and health standards.
