We are looking for a Site Maintenance Operative to take responsibility for ensuring the upkeep, safety and maintenance for the company.

The Position:

  • Any general driving duties that may be required by the Company, including making small collections and deliveries in one of the company vehicles if required
  • Responding to maintenance requests, ensuring high standards are always met
  • Painting, decorating and remedial repairs
  • Washing company vehicles as required
  • Inspecting the water sewage plant pump every other day to ensure it is operational
  • Regularly monitor and empty ashtrays in the smoking shelter as needed
  • Conduct on-site ladder inspections to ensure health and safety compliance
  • Operate power tools and hand tools safely and effectively
  • Daily maintenance work to include sweeping and cleaning duties
  • Basic plumbing jobs e.g. fixing leaks
  • Identify and report any electrical faults
  • Take deliveries of janitorial supplies and maintain stock levels
  • Check and repair the floors in the onion stores when requested
  • Checking the level of the diesel tanks on a weekly basis when Supervisor is absent
  • Ensure all materials and products used comply with health & safety regulations

You should have:

  • Full driving licence essential
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high quality workmanship
  • Proficiency in using both power tools and hand tools safely
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods of time
  • Practical with the ability to work independently
  • Analytical mind with good ability to problem solve
