Pre Grader Line Leader (Nights) – Moulton Bulb Co. Ltd
We are looking for a motivated and detail‑oriented individual to manage operations in the hopper/dressing room, ensuring a continuous supply of product to the grader line. A forklift licence is required.
Working Hours
5.00pm – 5.30am on a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern.
Position Responsibilities
- Actively monitor productivity on the grading line and ensure efficient operation.
- Ensure grader beds, blades, and overall grading facility cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained, following the \”clean‑as‑you‑go\” procedure.
- Record and log changes to grinder beds and blades.
- Assist and support the Production Technician Supervisor and Production Technician Engineer to achieve optimal post‑grading product quality.
- Manage and adjust orange bands to ensure proper feed and avoid damage to onions during grading.
- Enforce safe forklift operation procedures.
- Maintain accurate paperwork: forklift check sheets, staff labour sheets, reject logs, and scanning records.
- Perform forklift maintenance (cleaning, fluid checks, tyre pressure).
- Efficiently manage line dressing staff to meet high standards.
- Ensure constant flow of stock for the grader; bins, pallets, and trays must be stacked neatly and correctly.
- Operate forklift safely, ensuring loads are secure and avoiding damage to buildings and machinery.
Person Specification & Qualifications
- Valid forklift licence (counterbalance 3.5 essential; shunter licence available during training).
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and standing for long periods.
- Good sense of balance and eye‑hand‑foot coordination.
- Ability to assess weights, judge distances, and heights.
- Sharp eye for detail.
- Pro‑active, problem‑solving attitude.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures.
