The predicted salary is between 43200 - 72000 £ per year.

Outstanding opportunity for a mid-senior commercial litigation lawyer, or a mid-senior insurance litigation lawyer, or an insolvency lawyer to join an independent litigation and M&A Insurance and litigation finance brokerage in London. This is mostly an office-based role with Fridays spent working from home. However, special arrangements will be made for interested candidates living outside of London's recognised commuter belt with a strong interest and skill-set for the role. Such candidates are encouraged to apply with this company keen to see a range of candidates.

Operating at the intersection of law, finance and insurance, you will employ your legal, commercial and analytical skills to assess complex litigation related opportunities and prepare proposals for litigation insurance and litigation funding providers. You will work closely with the Directors in advising leading law firms, funders, corporate and individual clients in the negotiation and structuring of commercial terms, addressing due diligence requirements, and assisting in the execution of agreements.

The role: Applying your legal knowledge and practical experience of litigation to assess the merits of a variety of case types (including insolvency, collective actions (consumer GLO’s and competition claims), international arbitration and commercial litigation), drafting case investment proposals and liaising with clients and funders/insurers. Maintaining good relationships with the firms we work with across the globe and assisting in the development of new business. Liaising with our law firm clients to manage ongoing cases.

Essential requirements:

  • Experienced litigator
  • Demonstrable ability of commercial acumen and financial nous
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to process and synthesise large amounts of data and conduct efficient review
  • Ability to prioritise effectively and work under pressure
  • Comfortable dealing with a variety of case types and forums
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and a proactive approach to work
  • Commitment to excellent client service
  • Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint

Desirable skills/experience:

  • First-hand experience in litigation finance/insurance, either in private practice or having worked in funding
  • Experience of working in a commercial environment
  • Experience with alternative fee arrangements
  • Confident at networking including attending conferences, contributing to written articles, speaking at panels and delivering client pitches
  • Experience in drafting and executing transactional documents
