Excellent opportunity for a paralegal with experience to have a clear route to the SQE at a leading energy company. This is an office based role with 4 days per week in the office and Fridays at home. Reporting to the Legal Manager and working extensively with other disciplines in an office based environment close to a leading Surrey Commuter Station with excellent transport links to London and beyond, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your legal career.
Responsibilities
- Support compliance activities, including reviewing and updating internal policies and procedures, including KYC processes.
- Conduct KYC checks and due diligence, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records and databases.
- Assist with the review and drafting of NDAs and other commercial contracts.
- Provide company secretarial support, including the incorporation, maintenance, management, and dissolution of group entities.
- Manage Companies House filings and other corporate governance submissions, ensuring statutory records are accurate and up to date.
- Liaise with international corporate service providers to support the administration and maintenance of non-UK entities.
- Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders, liaising with group functions and departments to support legal, company secretarial, and compliance activities.
- Maintain statutory books, corporate records, and organisational documentation across the group.
- Track key deadlines and regulatory filings, including annual reports, confirmation statements, and other statutory obligations.
- Maintain and update group organisational charts and entity data.
- Prepare board minutes, written resolutions, and other corporate governance documentation, and liaise with external and overseas counsel where required.
- Support insurance-related administration, including coordination of renewals and documentation (if applicable).
- Provide general administrative support to the legal, company secretarial, and compliance functions.
- Monitor and report on relevant legislative and regulatory developments impacting the business.
Desired qualifications and requirements
- Law degree and/or paralegal qualification (or equivalent).
- 1-2 years' experience as a paralegal, ideally within a law firm or in-house legal team.
- Experience reviewing and drafting commercial contracts, including NDAs.
- Good understanding of corporate governance principles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage directly with business stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and deliver accurately within tight deadlines.
