Leading oil company is seeking an experienced energy trading lawyer. Reporting into the Head of Commercial Contracts and with a dotted line to the Head of Legal for EMEA, you will take responsibility for all oil trading and the trading of refinery products.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Sole European legal support for physical trading teams
- Review and draft storage agreements, private and public tenders and contract terms
- Mentored and provided ongoing training to contracts administrators on complex UK and international deal terms, enhancing their understanding of legal risks and negotiation strategies
- Negotiated high-value aviation fuel supply
- Lead negotiations on complex procurement and outsourcing agreements, including service contracts with hauliers and into-wing refuellers, collaborating closely with procurement and operations teams to achieve optimal commercial outcomes and upskill non-legal colleagues on contractual issues like TUPE, GDPR, liability and termination provisions
