Overview of the role
Come and work with our motivated and dynamic team to support Mott MacDonald’s global business travel programme. We are a small team of five subject matter experts. We aspire to use our knowledge of the travel industry and understanding of Mott MacDonald’s requirements, to deliver best in class business travel services: prioritising health, safety and sustainability as core deliverables. We work closely with internal stakeholders across the MM Group as well as our external partners – such as TMCs & technology providers and our industry peers in the world of corporate travel management. The role of Travel Specialist involves a variety of responsibilities and is never boring! A typical day might include attending meetings with suppliers to problem solve and plan improvements, writing user guidance documents, presenting top tips in user forums, listening to & responding to user feedback, discussing & evolving process / system configuration and attending travel industry networking events.
Candidate specification
- Essential:
- Excellent organisational skills with an ability to follow and record complex issues from start to finish
- Strong written and verbal communication skills across all levels of an organisation and with 3rd parties / suppliers / stakeholders / management
- Business awareness with the ability to understand technical explanations and solutions and translate these for non-technical people
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to look at the wider picture
- Able to work with both developers and senior business stakeholders to help understand the objectives and constraints on both sides
- Desirable:
- Experience working to integrate multiple software platforms (preferably KDS Neo and Global distribution system e.g. Sabre / Amadeus)
- Good at understanding new business challenges quickly and working out the impact of those on a complex set of IT services and solutions
