Mott MacDonald is a leader in planning, design and construction across coastal and offshore infrastructure. As a key member of the Ports, Coastal and Offshore (PCO) team, you will manage cable and renewables projects from feasibility to construction, ensuring sustainable solutions aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Cable Burial Risk Assessments, Burial Assessment Studies, and cable routing.
  • Develop transport and installation plans and produce construction documentation.
  • Manage project resourcing, programming and commercial/contract matters.
  • Lead tender procurement, including preparing tender documents, specifications, BOQs and construction drawings.
  • Support new business development and bid submissions for PCO account growth.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, share knowledge and deliver projects within profit, deadlines and quality targets.
  • Travel overseas for project assignments when required.

Candidate Specification – Essential

  • Experience in marine cable engineering, offshore wind and marine renewables in a consultancy.
  • Knowledge of cable engineering from offshore to coastal zone.
  • Demonstrated delivery of marine cable projects with innovative, digital techniques.
  • Chartered with a relevant professional institution (IET, IMechE, ICE, EI) or equivalent experience.
  • Project leadership experience.
  • Experience in business development, client liaison and bid preparation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, report writing and presentations.
  • Strong teamwork, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards.

Candidate Specification – Desirable

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Electrical Engineering or related technical field.

  • Locations: Brighton, Southampton, Croydon – UK.
  • Contract: Permanent; Work pattern: Full Time.
