Overview of the Role
Senior civil engineer / design engineer in the Water Utilities Division of Mott Mac Donald, based in Cardiff, Birmingham or Bristol, UK.
Responsibilities
- Work on a wide range of water and wastewater projects for UK and Irish water utilities and other stakeholders.
- Participate in multi‑disciplinary design teams across the full project life cycle, from feasibility studies to detailed design and commissioning.
- Prepare design submissions and technical documentation ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Undertake studies, concept, preliminary and detailed design and provide support during construction.
- Interface and liaise with clients, partners and other stakeholders.
- Candidate Specification
Essential
- Civil Engineering or related degree.
- Chartered or near‑chartered status (ICE or equivalent).
- Experience in water and/or wastewater engineering design.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to health, safety and environmental priorities.
- Proactive, adaptable and resilient approach to changing scenarios.
Desirable
- Strong digital capability (e. g., Civils 3D, GIS, pipeline hydraulics software).
- Experience contributing to low‑carbon solution development.
