The Energy unit delivers services to clients globally across several sectors including hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable generation and transmission & distribution networks.
Together we provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle – from concept and design to construction and operations, to decommissioning or repowering and life extension.

Overview of the role
The role sits within the
Nuclear: Defence and Civil (NDC) division in Mott Mac Donald's EUNA Energy unit (EEN) who work within the nuclear decommissioning, nuclear generation, defence and industrial process sectors.
In this role we are looking to grow our diverse team with individuals who have prior consulting experience or experience as the key security contact in large scale organisations and programmes.
Individual’s looking to apply should have demonstrable skills in areas including protective / physical security, supply chain security and personnel security.
You will be advising clients, architects, engineers, suppliers and project managers on the best approaches to manage security risk in capital programmes across a range of sectors including energy, nuclear, defence, and infrastructure.
Key responsibilities and duties include
- Develop security strategy, plans and governance
- Act as a single point of contact for all project security related matters
- Track and maintain compliance with security policy, procedures, process for both project team and sub-contractors
- Support the project delivery team by providing security focused guidance regarding implentation of security aspect letters
- Demonstrate knowledge and application of recognised security assurance frameworks and standards
- Ensure the project reflects any changes to security posture, communicating and implementing additional controls, where necessary
- Coordinate security awareness training for the project team and sub-contractors
- Support project commercial team assessing and scoring security submissions
- Monitor and record security non-conformance to provide auditable evidence
- Communicate emerging security risks and uncertainties to programme / project management

Essential
- Security management experience
• Previous experience working with
- Civil Nuclear Regulators
- and / or Ministry of Defence
- Working knowledge of ONR Security Assessment Principles and Nuclear Industry Security Regulations 03
- Experience with Civil Nuclear Security processes and understanding of List N / Reg 22 requirements
- Previous experience working with / understanding of Ministry of Defence security regulations
• Knowledge in one or more of the following
- Threat and risk analysis
- Security risk management
- Strategies schemes and master-planning
- Counterterrorism
- Physical security design
- Continuity and resilience for security threats
- Able to satisfactorily conclude complex or high consequence security investigations
- Experience in interpretation and delivery of corporate security governance, policies and procedures to meet legislative / client requirements and regulatory standards e. g.
- NPSA, ISO, Gov S: 007
- Security Qualifications (e. g. NVQ / BTEC / CSMP)
- Able to critically review the work of others
Desirable
- Understanding of the RIBA plan of work and the delivery of security within the built environment
- Experience establishing / working in Facility Security Clearance environment
- Membership of recognised national security institute
- National Protective Security Authority exposure
- Management of Risk experience
