Mott MacDonald Bentley is an integrated design and build business delivering award‑winning water and wastewater schemes across the UK. As a BIM Technician, you will contribute across all phases – from feasibility to construction – supporting major water and wastewater projects, including the Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water framework.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver CAD/BIM design data, perform quality control, and contribute to the development of CAD/BIM standards.
  • Use 3‑D modelling to support design collaboration, clash resolution, asset data capture, digital rehearsal, and cost capture.
  • Support the development and use of the common data environment platform and process (Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360).
  • Create and maintain a standardised BIM element library to enable model reuse, a production approach and the identification of affordable and low‑carbon solutions.
  • Take responsibility for cyber‑security aspects related to CAD/BIM data and access.
  • Validate CAD/BIM models from suppliers and integrate them into the project models.
  • Collaborate with designers to balance time, cost, and quality tensions.
  • Manage safety, well‑being, environmental, and sustainability considerations within BIM/CAD outputs.
  • Support project teams’ understanding of BIM and mentor less experienced BIM technicians, providing technical and professional guidance.

Qualifications

  • Recognised qualification in Computer‑aided design (CAD), BIM or a related field.
  • Proficiency in one or more Autodesk authoring packages (Revit, Civil 3D, AutoCAD).
  • Experience with water, wastewater, non‑infrastructure or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience authoring 3‑D models in a common data environment platform (Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM360).
  • Understanding of managing BIM data throughout the project lifecycle within a common data environment platform.
  • Knowledge of the key principles of information management set out in ISO 19650.
  • Strong communication skills with team members and stakeholders.
  • Methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Proactive and pragmatic mindset.
  • Proficiency in delivering results within short time‑frames, prioritising tasks, and managing time efficiently.
