The Water Utilities Division is Mott Mac Donald’s centre of excellence for responding to the UK and Ireland's water and wastewater challenges.
The work we do ensures safe water supplies for future generations, prevents urban flooding, and improves the health of rivers and coastal environments.
Overview of the Role
We offer opportunities for Senior civil engineers (design engineers) within our multidisciplinary Water Division.
The role covers design projects such as water treatment, water distribution, wastewater drainage and recycling, and desalination.
Key Responsibilities
- Work across multiple UK and Ireland water companies.
- Participate in multidisciplinary design teams in project delivery.
- Deliver excellence every day.
- Prepare design submissions to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
- Undertake studies, concept, preliminary, and detailed design.
- Interface and liaise with clients and other stakeholders.
- Candidate Specification
Essential
- Civil Engineering degree or other relevant degree.
- Chartered or near chartered status (ICE or equivalent).
- Water and/or wastewater engineering design experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of the importance of prioritising health, safety, and environmental issues.
- Proactive approach, with an ability to adapt to changing scenarios.
Desirable
- Strong digital capability (e. g. Civils 3D, GIS, Pipeline hydraulics software).
- Contribution towards the identification and development of low carbon solutions.
