The Advisory and Programme Delivery (APD) unit delivers project, programme & commercial management (PPCM) services and advisory solutions across built environment, defence, energy, water, environmental, transportation, health and care sectors. APD delivers services to projects ranging up to £20bn, through the disciplines of programme management, project management, project controls, scheduling, cost management, estimating, infrastructure finance, management consulting, digital consulting and education, health and care management.
Owing to the organic expansion of our Defence portfolio we have a unique opportunity for Quantity Surveyors to join our fast-growing teams in Scotland. This is a unique opportunity to be involved in complex and challenging projects in the UK. We are mobilising for key opportunities across a broad Defence portfolio.
The Quantity Surveyor will support the successful delivery of client projects, focusing on cost management, NEC contract administration, and commercial leadership to ensure efficient, transparent delivery aligned with client objectives. The role drives value, manages risk, builds stakeholder relationships, and champions commercial best practice throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and administer NEC4 contracts in accordance with project and governance requirements.
- Control and implement contract variations efficiently, ensuring timely and compliant agreement.
- Maintain accurate cost control, monitoring, and forecasting.
- Continuously improve the quality and reliability of cost forecasts and budgets.
- Work collaboratively with client and contractor teams to achieve project objectives, KPIs, and value outcomes.
- Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
- NEC ECC Accreditation and practical experience administering NEC4 ECC contracts.
- Hold, or be working towards, membership of an appropriate professional body or equivalent such as MRICS.
- Experience working on technically complex infrastructure projects within highly regulated industry.
- Experience managing contract cashflow, contract governance and change to essential criteria.
- Demonstrable experience administering contracts using CEMAR.
- Proven experience in cost control and estimating.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Teams, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Practical, hands-on experience administering NEC4 ECC and/or PSC contracts.
- Demonstrable experience administering contracts using Thinkproject Contracts.
- NEC4 Project Manager Accreditation.
