The Energy unit delivers services to clients globally across sectors including hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable generation and transmission & distribution networks. We provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle – from concept and design to construction and operations, to decommissioning or repowering and life extension. The Energy Unit, specifically the Transmission & Distribution division, is recruiting for Electrical Engineers at various capacities (Senior/Principal) to join our team. This role supports client projects from inception and master planning through concept and detailed design stages to commissioning and final completion. Our work spans renewable power generation, network design, grid connections, Net Zero Carbon aspirations and estate management planning.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing technical solutions and project leadership in the production of electrical designs for major electrical and multi-disciplinary infrastructure works.
- Managing engineering projects and deliverables to meet client expectations and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
- Supporting and contributing to the development of junior staff and graduates.
- Leading site surveys and ensuring project deliverables and scope are clear.
- Understanding procurement and contract awards such as NEC PSC.
- Input into the network configuration and understanding of operations scenarios and impacts.
- Designing LV and MV (up to 33kV) networks, including cable sizing, routing, and termination.
- Reviewing design submissions within the team against client scope.
Candidate specification:
- Professionally qualified in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Proven skills, capabilities and experience in the sector areas mentioned above.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrable experience within electrical project engineering, with focus on installations from LV up to 11kV / 33kV.
- Willing to travel in the UK and overseas if required.
- Initiative, self-motivation and the confidence to make decisions.
