As Australia develops a sovereign naval nuclear capability, we are seeking expressions of interest from experienced UK Nuclear Infrastructure Project Managers interested in relocating to Australia and contributing to one of the most significant nuclear programmes in the world.

Your Opportunity

Join one of Australia's most significant defence and nuclear programmes supporting the delivery of the AUKUS partnership and Australia's future naval nuclear capability.

As a Senior Nuclear Infrastructure Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of complex projects and programmes across the nuclear and defence sectors.

Working alongside specialists from Australia, the UK and across our global business, you will drive successful outcomes across infrastructure, engineering, design and safety-related work packages that support Australia's sovereign defence capability.

Depending on your experience and project requirements, you may lead major infrastructure and design delivery packages, complex engineering programmes, or the coordination and delivery of nuclear safety case activities.

In this role you will

  • Lead the delivery of complex infrastructure, engineering, design or nuclear safety programmes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risks and resources to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including engineers, designers, safety specialists, contractors and client stakeholders.
  • Lead project planning, governance, reporting and performance management activities.
  • Manage technical, commercial and delivery interfaces across complex programmes.
  • Oversee the delivery of engineering and design outputs in accordance with project requirements.
  • Where required, manage the delivery of nuclear safety case programmes, including planning, coordination and assurance of safety-related activities.
  • Support engagement with clients, regulators, contractors and supply chain partners.
  • Identify, manage and escalation project risks, issues and opportunities.
  • Support procurement, contracting and delivery strategy development.
  • Contribute to capability development, mentoring and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Experience or interest in one or more of the following areas would be beneficial

About you

To be successful in this role, you will bring

  • A degree in engineering, project management, construction management or another relevant discipline.
  • Experience delivering complex infrastructure, engineering, design or nuclear-related projects.
  • Experience within defence, nuclear or other highly regulated industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong project planning, scheduling, governance and reporting skills.
  • Experience managing project risks, issues and commercial considerations.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Chartered status, professional certification or progress towards chartership would be advantageous.
  • A collaborative leadership style and passion for developing others.
