Overview of the role

As a key member of the Ports, Coastal and Offshore (PCO) team, the Senior Marine Cable & Renewables Engineer will influence the success of cable and renewables projects across the globe. The role covers all stages of the project cycle, from cable routing, burial risk assessments and feasibility studies, to transport, installation, construction supervision and monitoring.

Scope includes:

  • cable burial risk assessments and burial assessment studies
  • cable routing, transport and installation documentation
  • renewables constraints mapping, site prospecting, site investigation, data management and GIS
  • project management duties such as resourcing, programming, commercial and contractual matters, risk and quality oversight, tender procurement, BOQ preparation and contract award

Candidate specification

Essential:

  • Experience working in marine cable engineering, offshore wind and marine renewables in a consultancy environment
  • Experience in marine cable engineering from offshore to the coastal zone
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver marine cable engineering projects using innovative and digitally driven techniques
  • Chartered with a relevant professional institution such as IET, IMechE, ICE, EI or equivalent demonstrable working experience
  • Demonstrated project leadership
  • Experience in business development, including client liaison and bid preparation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including report writing and presentation delivery
  • Strong team working and problem‑solving skills
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards

Desirable:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical equivalent
