Why join our Street Lighting team? Our Street Lighting team work on nationally significant transport and infrastructure projects. By joining the team, you will have the opportunity to learn from recognised technical experts in lighting design and develop your skills across lighting, electrical design and environmental assessment.
Key responsibilities and duties may include:
- Prepare and contribute to high-quality lighting and electrical designs, drawings, specifications, and contract documentation to support project delivery.
- Undertake site surveys to inform design development and nighttime lighting assessments.
- Develop and maintain strong technical credibility and trusted relationships with clients, contributing to successful project outcomes within collaborative and partnering environments.
- Work closely with multi-disciplinary engineering and technical teams, ensuring effective coordination and integration of design solutions.
Candidate Specification:
Essential:
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to manage workload effectively and deliver high-quality outputs with supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Conversant with lighting design software, particularly Lighting Reality Experience or practical working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Working knowledge of National Highways DMRB and MCHDW standards, BS5489, BS EN 13201, BS7671 and ILP Technical Reports and guidance documents.
Desirable:
- Relevant engineering or electrical qualification (minimum certificate or diploma level).
- Completed or working towards the Institution of Lighting Professionals Exterior Lighting Diploma.
- Registered with the Engineering Council as EngTech and Affiliate Member of the ILP.
