Overview
In this role you support environmental performance across our UK water projects, from feasibility to construction. You’ll join our environment team to drive risk-aware delivery, collaborate with design and operations staff, and liaise with regulators and clients. You’ll shape environmental deliverables and mitigation strategies, helping to safeguard ecosystems while enabling project success. The opportunity offers growth within a leading water-focused JV and exposure to AMP8 frameworks.

Responsibilities
- Identify environmental risks across the project lifecycle and develop mitigation measures
- Coordinate inputs from heritage, archaeology, ecology, geomorphology and other environmental disciplines to meet standards
- Produce deliverables at milestones (e.g., EIA screening, environmental management plans)
- Lead regulator liaison and communicate effectively with stakeholders
- Engage with clients on environmental and consenting matters to strengthen relationships
- Demonstrate understanding of multiple environmental disciplines and manage project risks
- Coordinate environmental aspects through planning, organisation and communication
- Solve problems methodically to drive project delivery and manage time efficiently
Key requirements
- Chartered with a relevant professional body or actively working towards chartership
- Awareness of planning processes in water sector, including surveys, permits and consents
- Experience producing environmental permit applications (flood risk, Tree Protection Orders, groundwater permits)
- Experience advising on sustainability initiatives and biodiversity net gain
- Support for environmental training across the business
- Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites
