Mott MacDonald Bentley are recruiting for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join the Anglian Water @One Alliance. As part of Anglian Water’s @one Alliance, we are on a mission to create a sustainable and resilient future for water. With an ambitious £2.3 billion capital investment in AMP8, we are revolutionising infrastructure, sustainability, and digital transformation to protect the environment and support growing communities.
As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer you’ll be part of this exciting programme from the start, gaining hands-on experience of Mechanical Engineering across major infrastructure projects. You’ll work alongside experienced Engineering professionals building your knowledge, developing your skills and working towards a successful career in Mechanical Engineering. You’ll be supported throughout your development, with opportunities to build your technical knowledge, gain professional experience and work towards your longer-term career goals.
What we’re looking for
- Graduates who are curious, collaborative and keen to build a career in Mechanical Engineering.
- A 2:2 degree or above BEng or MEng/MSc in Mechanical Engineering.
- Work in an open and collaborative way – practice integrated working with all Alliance teams and the client.
- Develop effective working relationships.
- Embrace the responsibilities of a defined stage gate delivery process – understand its impact on your role, people and processes.
- Apply rigour to key projects and tasks that require accurate and timely delivery and decision making.
- The ability to organise your workload and meet deadlines.
- A collaborative approach and willingness to learn.
- An interest in infrastructure, construction or the built environment.
- A full UK driving licence, or the ability to travel between project locations where required.

Mott MacDonald Bentley is a joint venture business, established in 1999 between civil engineering contractor JN Bentley and global management consultancy, Mott MacDonald. Mott MacDonald Bentley offers fully integrated design and build services to its clients, combining the contracting expertise of JN Bentley and the design specialisms of Mott MacDonald. This role is employed by Mott MacDonald but will involve working across the joint venture business, both with Mott MacDonald and JN Bentley colleagues.
