About The Business Unit
Mott MacDonald’s Advisory and Programme Delivery (APD) unit delivers both project, programme & commercial management (PPCM) services and advisory solutions across the built environment, defence, energy, water, environmental, transportation, health and care sectors. We deliver tailored solutions that directly address our clients’ key challenges, combining our world-leading project expertise with unrivalled programme delivery capabilities and advisory services.
Overview Of The Role
We are looking for a Digital Consultant to deliver practical digital and data-enabled solutions across major projects and programmes. Working within the Digital PMO / project controls environment, the successful candidate will turn complex business, reporting and information needs into useful, maintainable outputs. The role will own defined work packages and work directly with stakeholders to understand processes, validate requirements, assess data sources and agree success measures. Responsibilities include designing, prototyping, building and testing Power BI dashboards, data models, reporting pipelines, workflow automation and SharePoint-based collaboration structures.
Candidate specification
- Essential
- Experience delivering Power BI reporting or analytics solutions, including data preparation, modelling, DAX and visualisation
- Ability to work with limited supervision on complex assignments and own delivery from discovery through testing and handover
- Experience capturing stakeholder requirements and translating business needs into practical, testable digital or data outputs
- Working knowledge of Power Query / ETL and SQL, with experience integrating varied data sources
- Strong communication and documentation skills, including supporting adoption and explaining solutions to non-specialists
- Organised and delivery-focused, with experience in a project, programme, PMO or consulting environment
- Desirable
- Project controls, PMO, infrastructure, engineering consultancy or regulated programme experience
- Experience with Python, Power Automate, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, REST APIs, Git/GitHub or DevOps
- Knowledge of Primavera P6, Deltek Cobra, SAP, Candy, Nintex or comparable project controls systems
- Experience developing reusable templates, common data environments, workflow standards or data governance controls
- Working towards, or willing to work towards, a recognised intermediate accreditation relevant to APD Digital, such as AChMC or RITTech
