Overview of the Role

We are looking for a Project Controller to support project managers across Aviation, Maritime and Offshore (AMO) projects. The role strengthens AMO’s project management resilience, ensuring consistency in delivery, reporting and controls across a varied portfolio of work, including major airport, maritime and offshore assignments in the UK and internationally.

The successful candidate will work closely with project managers and divisional leadership to plan, monitor and deliver projects effectively. This includes supporting programme coordination, schedules, cost and resource tracking, reporting, risk and change management, and helping teams apply good project controls discipline. The role suits someone comfortable operating across both delivery management and project controls, and who can step into project management responsibilities where needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist project managers in planning, budgeting, forecasting, progress tracking and reporting across multiple projects.
  • Support programme coordination and schedules management.
  • Track costs and resources, ensuring accurate reporting.
  • Manage risk and change control activities.
  • Apply and promote project controls discipline across teams.
  • Provide support to project managers and teams on live commissions.

Candidate Specification

  • Experience in project management, project controls or a combined delivery/controls role within a professional services, engineering or infrastructure environment.
  • Ability to support project managers with planning, budgeting, forecasting, progress tracking and reporting across multiple projects.
  • Good understanding of project controls principles, including scheduling, cost control, risk management, change control and performance reporting.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work across multiple priorities and support teams in a structured and practical way.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with project managers, technical teams and senior leaders.
  • Proactive and collaborative approach, with confidence to identify issues, improve ways of working and help drive consistency in delivery.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience supporting project managers in aviation, maritime, offshore or wider transport/infrastructure environments.
  • Experience working across portfolios or divisional reporting, including improving project governance or management information.
  • Familiarity with project controls systems, reporting tools and internal business management processes.
  • Relevant project management or project controls qualifications.
